The largest event in Russia and the CIS, MRO Russia & CIS, dedicated entirely to covering the burning issues of aircraft maintenance development, will take place on September 15–16.

For 16 years, the exhibition and conference MRO Russia & CIS has established itself as a key event for MRO in the region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, which is not missed by aircraft operators, maintenance providers, component suppliers and other industry participants.

Last year, the event took place on the eve of the introduction of massive pandemic restrictions.

Rosaviatsiya boss:
Russia will need 700 new aircraft by 2030
Russian airlines will need more than 700 new aircraft and some 250 helicopters by 2030, Alexander Neradko, head of Russian aviation authority Rosaviatsiya (Federal Air Transport Agency) revealed in his recent interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, state-run media outlet.
The figures are result of a survey of Russian operators carried out by Rosaviatsiya, given the sooner rather than later market recovery.
Russian airlines’ March traffic only 27 per cent below pre‑crisis level
According to preliminary data on operational performance of the Russian airline industry in March, published by the country’s authority Rosaviatsiya, past month Russian airlines served collectively 6.46 million passengers.
The figure is roughly level with March 2020 (6.41 million), the month when the first restrictions were imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The RPKs however are 18 per cent down year on year, to 13.17 billion, reflecting the ongoing hurdles of international air travel.

Aeroflot opens new MRO hangar, transfers Boeing 777 heavy maintenance to Russia
Aeroflot is all set for its first Boeing 777-300ER heavy check to be performed in Russia, having opened a new hangar at its home Moscow Sheremetyevo airport. The new facility is operated by Aeroflot Group’s MRO subsidiary A-Technics.
Prior to moving wide-body maintenance in-house, Russia’s flag carrier sent its Boeing 777-300ERs to China for shop visits with Sino-American service provider Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services. Aeroflot currently operates twenty of the long-haul wide-bodies, and expects delivery of 21st one in May.
MRO provider of the Aeroflot group is certified according to the new requirements of the Bermuda aviation authorities
Aeroflot Group MRO provider A-Technics has been audited in accordance with the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authorities (BCAA) requirements and received the OTAR Part-145 Option 2 Certificate. The new certificate is completely independent and does not depend on the EASA Part 145 certificate of the European aviation authorities.
Lithuanian MRO provider Jet MS acquires British RAS Group
Avia Solutions Group subsidiary, Jet MS (former FL Technics Jets), a provider of base and line maintenance services for business and regional aircraft, has acquired the UK-based RAS Group, comprising RAS Completions and RAS Interiors.
IAI and Aviatic to Establish an Aircraft Maintenance Center in Lithuania
Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Aviatic MRO for a strategic cooperation in establishing an aircraft maintenance center at the Siauliai Airport (former Soviet military airport), Lithuania.
The new site will provide aircraft maintenance and overhaul services, the conversion of B737NG passenger airplanes into cargo configuration, and the training, certification, and licensing of personnel. Aviatic will run the maintenance center and will support the interaction with the Lithuanian regulators, including planning and infrastructure development.
Construction of the first MRO center for Mil helicopters in the Caspian region will be completed by the end of the year
An agreement on cooperation in the repair of Russian helicopters in Azerbaijan was reached between Silk Way Helicopter Services and the Russian Helicopters holding in 2016.
The idea of creating a fully functional service center capable of performing repairs (up to overhaul) on the basis of the airline arose after the development of the field repair of the first helicopter.

MRO Russia & CIS 2021 conference agenda — what questions are relevant?
In preparation for the MRO Russia & CIS 2021 conference, the first meeting of the Expert Council was held, which was attended by representatives of major Russian airlines and leading maintenance service providers.
Moscow is actively returning to its usual exhibition and conference activity
On April 12–14, Moscow hosted the 25th International Exhibition of Transport and Logistics Services, Warehouse Equipment and Technologies TransRussia.
More than 200 companies took part in the exhibition, the total area of the exposition was more than 14,000 square meters.

Companies from 23 countries of the world were present: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, USA, UAE, Turkey, China, Hungary and other countries.
