Rolls-Royce is a global business providing power systems for use on land, at sea and in the air, with a balanced business portfolio and leading market positions.

The growing portfolio, achieved as a result of following a consistent strategy of investing in technology, capability and infrastructure, has enabled Rolls-Royce to grow its market share across all sectors. The installed base of gas turbines now stands at 54,000.

Rolls-Royce is one of the world’s largest providers of civil aero engines, with more than 12,000 large engines in service. It powers 30 civil aircraft types, from small executive jets through to large passenger aircraft. The Trent engine family has a market-leading share of 50 per cent powering Airbus and Boeing new generation widebody aircraft. In Russia Rolls-Royce engines power aircraft of the following Russian airlines: Transaero, KrasAir, Yakutia, VIM-Avia, Polet, complementing by Aeroflot in November 2008. There are about 20 Rolls-Royce-powered business jets flying in Russia today. Rolls-Royce engines will also power up to six Tupolev Tu-204 aircraft.

Rolls-Royce is the world’s second largest defence aero engine manufacturer, providing around 25 per cent of the world’s military engines. The portfolio covers all major sectors, including transport, where it is the world leader, combat, trainers, helicopters and tactical aircraft. There are over 40 Rolls-Royce-powered Western helicopters in Russia. The Group has also signed a contract with Kamov-Holding for supply of M 250 engines for Ka-226 helicopters.

High value-added services for customers in all sectors now contribute 55 per cent of Group sales through a range of services which remove uncertainties from engine management and improve operational reliability for operators through a mutually-aligned business relationship. A TotalCare agreement has been signed with the Russian airline Polet, while Transaero and VIM-Avia have other service agreements with Rolls-Royce.

The Group is also a global leader in marine propulsion and other equipment for cruise, fast vessel, naval and offshore markets, and a world leader in ship design for the offshore sector. Rolls-Royce has provided the ship design and equipment for three ice-breakers for offshore operation in Sakhalin. Also the contracts have been signed to supply deck machinery for an offshore platform being built by Vyborg Shipyard and azimuth thrusters for a salvage vessel being built in St. Petersburg by Admiralty Shipyards.

In the energy sector, Rolls-Royce is also a world leader in the onshore and offshore oil and gas industry and a growing force in the global electrical power generation market. Rolls-Royce is providing two RB211 gas turbine power generation packages and associated waste heat recovery units for Russia's largest single integrated oil and gas project on Sakhalin Island. And the first two Bergen B35:40-V16AG power generation units are in installation and commissioning stage in Moscow Region.
