Malakut Insurance Brokers is the largest Russian insurance broker, established in 2000. Malakut was the first to receive a license from the Federal Service of Insurance Regulation for performing insurance activities on the territory of Russian Federation.

In February 2007 Malakut was the first Russian insurance broker to obtain the Federal Insurance Service License for professional activity.

The main aspects of Malakut’s business activity are aviation and space insurance (approximately 50% of the company's portfolio), energy risks, property, marine, and industrial risks. Many of our brokers have experience of working in various insurance companies.

Malakut today is an international company with representative offices in Colombia and Vietnam and broker offices in Kazakhstan (SP Malakut), Azerbaijan (Malakut Sigorta) and Ukraine (SB Malakut). Malakut Insurance Brokers is a member of the International Insurance Brokers Association.

The year 2008 saw the establishment of the Malakut Constellation affiliated company specializing in space and military-industrial insurance services.

Malakut has vast experience in settling claims, including those arising from major accidents. The biggest claims of 2006 came from the loss of an A320, which burnt down at Brussels Airport in May, and the accident, also in May, involving the A320 that crashed into the sea on approach to Adler Airport. The combined value of claims paid out in relation to these two accidents exceeded 60 million US dollars.

Malakut regularly organizes international conferences on aviation and space insurance. These conferences involve leading Russian and foreign industry experts. In May 2008 Malakut organized the Space Club 2008 international conference on space insurance. This event has been held regularly since 2005, and remains the only conference providing a platform for discussion of financial issues related to the space industry and the insurance sector of the economy.

Malakut also organizes seminars and training sessions on aviation insurance for airline risk managers. In April 2008, Malakut organized a seminar on the settlement of claims for aviation-related losses. The next such seminar will be held in Dubai in October.
