About Wings of Russia Award
Wings of Russia is the national airline award established and organized by Russia’s leading industry publication Air Transport Observer, the Russian Air Transport Operators Association and Infomost.com agency.
Launched in 1997, Wings of Russia award is now accepted as Russia’s only program recognizing excellence in commercial air transport.
Over 50 Russian carriers compete annually in 15 categories including domestic and international passenger transport, air cargo, business aviation and helicopter operations.
Winners are decided through a secret ballot by an independent Expert Council that numbers over 150 industry experts, representatives of gov¬ernmental agencies, related business and fi¬nancial circles, and mass media.
n 2011, passenger voting will be extended to recognize people’s choice for the Russian Airline of the Year, the International Airline of the Year and the Russian Airline for Inter¬net Technology Leadership. Winners in these nominations are defined by online passenger questionnaire with over 8,000 people involved in voting.
New nominations will be introduced to mark leadership in passenger charter opera¬tions and the development of regional route network.
Another important innovation in 2010 will be the award for the remarkable business proj¬ect in air transport that has been established and successfully implemented within the last 15 years.
Wings of Russia Award ceremony remains one the most important annual events in the air transport industry calendar and the most powerful tool to develop marketing communi¬cations both within the air transport commu¬nity and with other businesses.
The ceremony welcomes up to 800 guests featuring senior management from airlines, aircraft industry, government officials, industry suppliers, insurance, finance and mass media.
The Wings of Russia 2010 Award ceremony will take place on March 28, 2011 at Ritz Carlton hotel in Moscow.
