The inaugurating international conference Container Transportation: Russia at the Global Crossroads held on March, 22-23 in Hamburg gathered international container market players to discuss and share their views of the container market changes and developments in Russia.

Industry experts assume Russia’s container market will show impressive growth in the short term following extensive modernization programs and investments into sea terminal infrastructure.

European Parliament’s Knut Fleckenstein pointed out the relevance of this conference in view of Russia’s forthcoming WTO accession that will expectedly influence future market trends. This move will allow Russia to accelerate modernization as well as to adopt international standards in various areas of trade.
